A little about Chris

CHRISTOPHER DOUGLAS HEARD
June 17, 1970 - July 4, 2003

Chris attended Meadowlane, Queensmount, Forest Heights and graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with a BA in Psychology and a diploma in Accounting.

He played minor hockey, soccer and baseball and for many years was on various rep teams traveling throughout Ontario and the northern US.  When Chris was 14, he participated in a CISV interchange to Italy, learning the local customs and developing a taste for good red wine.

Chris first started playing golf at Rockway Golf Course where he had a youth membership and would spend every day of the summer perfecting the game he learned to both love and hate.  He spent many vacations hitting the ball through North Carolina, Alberta and Ontario.

Chris was employed by Loblaws - MapleGrove in Cambridge and had previously worked for Conestoga Cold Storage in Kitchener and Calgary.

Chris was always a voracious reader who enjoyed everything from the classics to contemporary works; sports to philosophy.  He accumulated a diverse collection of books and consumed everything in his pursuit for knowledge and answers.  Over the last few years he had rekindled his love for writing and was working on a number of short essays and a novel.

Chris was the beloved son of Doreen and Douglas.  He was a fantastic uncle to both Lia and Samantha and loved to spend time with them.  Chris was a loyal and caring brother to Jon and Kathy and brother in law to Denise.

Chris will be remembered by his extended family; Dorothy Gordon - his grandmother, Bill and Glady Gordon, Jim and Donna Gordon and Lorna Jenkins - his aunts and uncles, and Joe, Stephanie, Grant and Andy Gordon his cousins.   He will also be remembered and loved by his many friends.
